Assisted Living at Brookdale is a type of long-term care designed for disabled, older adults that need help with ADLs (Activities with Daily Living). This care involves housing, meals, social activities, bathing, dressing, medication management, housekeeping and more. Brookdale residents may live in a private studio apartment or shared room that includes basic furnishings, a bathroom and kitchenette. Most Brookdale Assisted Living residents do not need 24/7 medical care that is usually provided in skilled nursing.

Brookdale Memory Care | Dementia Care | Alzheimer’s Care

Memory Care at Brookdale includes services provided in Assisted Living, but includes specialized memory care to meet the needs of those undergoing Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of Dementia. This includes care and attention from specially trained staff in order to provide a supportive and safe environment for its residents. Brookdale memory care rooms are usually in a separate, secure wing of the community that is designed to prevent residents from wandering and leaving the community.

Memory Care programs and activities at Brookdale are designed and intended to stimulate the cognitive abilities and support social interaction for its residents. Some of these Memory Care programs include music therapy, art and memory games to enrich the lives of their residents.

Brookdale’s Memory Care also includes Assisted Living services such as housekeeping, grooming, bathing, dressing, meal preparation and much more.

Brookdale Independent Living | Retirement Living

Independent Living at Brookdale is designed for older adults that want to live in a resort-style community, but do not need any help with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s). Residents in Independent Living prefer sharing the same interests with other older adults, but with a more active active lifestyle.

Independent Living at Brookdale is different from Assisted Living or Memory Care in that residents typically do not require assistance with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming or medication management. Independent Living at Brookdale is offered and designed for older adults that can live independently but prefer the company of other Seniors in the community.

Room Options

Residents at Brookdale can choose from Private to Semi-Private (shared) which typically come with furnishings like a couch, bed, dresser and closet. The type of room will have a sizable affect on costs. For families and residents that are budget sensitive, a Semi-Private room can be a good option to receive the care and support they need. Shared rooms can cost 30-40% less than a Private Room.

Meal Services

Brookdale offers three nutritious meals a day to its residents. If a resident has food allergies or has certain requirements, chefs can prepare meals specific to their needs. New residents can inquire with the Brookdale community director or the nursing staff for more details.

Housekeeping and Laundry Services

All Brookdale communities provide routine housekeeping services to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the residents. Laundry services are also performed on a regular basis to help maintain good hygiene.

Personal Care Assistance

Should residents require assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), also known as Assisted Living, Brookdale staff members are available to help residents with dressing, bathing, grooming, eating, medication management and more. New residents can inquire with the community director or nursing staff on how they can help meet their needs.

Socialization and Activities

Brookdale locations offer daily social events and activities for their residents to keep them mentally stimulated, engaged and active. Brookdale social events and activities include art (drawing, painting, etc.), music therapy and performances, dancing, aerobics, pet therapy, bingo night, card games, movie night and much more.

Transportation Services

Brookdale communities offer transportation services for its residents to doctor appointments, mass and synagogue services, shopping centers, parks, beaches, to name a few.

Emergency Staffing

24-Hour Staff and Emergency Response are available at Brookdale when unexpected situations occur. Emergency response buttons are also available in the rooms should residents be in need of help.

Fitness and Wellness

Most Brookdale Communities offer exercise and fitness classes in their fitness centers. This is meant to help promote mental and physical stimulation for their residents’ well being. Socialization is a big part of living in a large community. Social interaction is key to a healthy life and promotes mental wellness. Brookdale Communities offers amenities such as great rooms, outdoor verandas, gardens, dining areas, lounges, libraries, living rooms, sun room, game rooms, beauty salon, barber shop, therapy room, and more.

Medial Services

Some Brookdale Communities have on-site medical or health services. This can include immunization clinics on-site for viruses including the flu, COVID, pneumonia, the shingles and more. Routine check ups and access to doctors and or nurses may be available. If they are not and the resident needs to see their health care professional, Brookdale Community staff can arrange transportation to and from their doctor.
