I’m new to this forum. My mom is in a nursing facility and getting rehab as she had a bad fall. The doctor said she should be cleared to leave by next week from the nursing home. I have been searching for senior care homes on this site and found a few that are close and look within my budget.

Has anyone by chance ever heard of The Irvine Cottages or have any experience with another assisted living care home? Anyone know if they are any good?

    Hi Linda,

I just went through the entire process of moving my Dad in South Orange County. I wanted a small care home because the bigger assisted living communities didn’t have the smaller caregiver to resident ratio and attention my Dad needed. He has Alzheimer’s and needs help bathing and dressing himself.

We actually moved him into Arbor View Care Homes and they’ve been in business for 30+ years. I toured Irvine Cottages as well and the owner is also amazing. They just happened to be full and I was lucky Arbor View had one vacancy available at the time.

Pretty much what Ive noticed in my experience is that most of the really good senior care homes tend to be full. It’s all about timing.

    I hope that helps!
